Conversion

It's official, I'm converting.

I used to be a Brussels Sprouts hater, but after dinner tonight I have totally changed my mind. I've been determined to get over hating them. It always seemed like they had potential, but every time I had them I was disappointed. A lot of the time they were bitter. And even dripping with butter or cheese sauce, they just didn't impress me. Broccoli is a much better vehicle for cheese and butter.

I'd heard good things about roasting them, so I tried them roasted with balsamic vinegar, pine nuts and Parmesan cheese. (drools) They were amazing.

I used to hate Brussels Sprouts with a passion, but Boyfriend is slowly changing my mind. The smaller ones tend to be sweeter. Also, a friend of ours will heat up some light olive oil with minced garlic until the garlic is just about to turn brown, then pours it over the sprouts (works for broccoli too). Absolutely Delish.

Funny, I actually just bought my very first brussels sprouts ever with the intention of trying....they're little ones, steam-in-bag kind, I was trying to think of what to toss them with...now I've got some ideas! (bekka)

Oooh, the garlic idea sounds good kirsten!

And let me know if you want the recipe for the pine nut Brussels Sprouts, or any other recipes, I actually have a ton of them. I just hadn't convinced myself to try them yet.
